  1. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This is one of the best breeds to have as companions in your golden years. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are quite easygoing and friendly, integrating well in senior communities. This breed is widely known for their playfulness and friendliness, which makes them perfect for seniors with grandchildren and even other pets.

Grooming

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have long ears and soft fur. Like Pomeranians, Spaniels need to be brushed regularly and bathed from time to time. Also, their ears need to be cleaned regularly, as they are prone to ear infections.

Exercise

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are as endearing as they are playful. They are also quite agile and acrobatic, and always up for a good chase. However, they only require a moderate amount of exercise, about 60 minutes per day, which is perfect for their senior owners who also need to stretch their legs from time to time.

Training

Luckily, spaniels are easygoing when it comes to training. They are very intelligent and intuitive, willing to cooperate, and thus relatively easy to train.
