5 Surprising Scents Your Dog HATES to Smell

Vinegar

Vinegar is one of the most widely used alternatives to chemical cleaning solutions, especially since it has a neutralizing effect on unpleasant odors. It has become a staple in many households, and not just for use while cooking and cleaning.

However, if you are fond of vinegar extracted from white spirits, your dog may not be as happy as you are about the effects of this fermented liquid. Most pups, regardless of their age, will not only turn their noses away from the scent of vinegar, but they will also not dare to come close to it. We cannot even talk about the possibility of them wanting to eat it.

You can, however, make use of vinegar around the home, especially if you want to get rid of any unpleasant scents around your home and even wash away any spots on your carpets where your fluffy companion relieved itself. It will get rid of the smell, and there is a high chance your dog will not go on the spot again.

Despite dogs hating the smell, vinegar is not toxic for them, so you should not worry too much on this front. You should be worried however if they end up ingesting it frequently as it can cause them discomfort and even pain at a gastrointestinal level.
