Mint Plants

While we perceive mint as a fresh scent and associate it with cleanliness, it may not be the same for our furry companions. They may end up eating some mint when it comes to dog treats meant for keeping their dental hygiene in good shape, but in any other situation, dogs hate being around mint.

This is caused by the fact that the herb has a potent scent, and since it is intense, dogs seem to dislike it by default. We may be thinking about having fresh breath, but our pups will not like the smell.

You can also see this aversion to the mint smell since a lot of dogs avoid going to parts of gardens that have mint planted. Yet, you should not count on the fact that if you plant mint in a certain area, dogs will stay clear of it. It is still something worth trying if you want to ward off any dogs in a humane way.

The scent and taste of artificial mint, which includes peppermint, are found by dogs to be more tolerable when in dog treats, and some may even really like it. The mint plant, however, is an enemy to our fur friends!
