#7 Rottweiler

The first condition that we think about when we are debating the health issues of this breed is aortic stenosis. The blood flow is partially obstructed, and this leads to a tired heart that has to work harder when pumping blood. Clinical signs differ depending on the severity of the narrowing. Usually, the dog has no issues with this condition when it is in a mild form, but it could still be carried on to its pups.

Many breeds, including Rottweilers, are affected by the condition known as the cold-water tail. There isn’t much information available on the disease, although it’s believed that exposure to cold water or laying in snow causes the tip of the tail to momentarily go “slack”. Some vets advise putting a warm compress on the tail’s base.
