Yorkshire Terrier
The Yorkshire terrier, sometimes called a Yorkie, is a toy dog breed that typically weighs around 7 pounds. Yorkshire terriers got their name because they were first bred in Yorkshire, England, in the early 1800s, specifically to hunt tiny rodents. But because of their amiable and devoted character, the Yorkies quickly won over the hearts of families.
I mean, who would refuse to cuddle with this cutie after a long and busy day? I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t!
Pug
Who could refuse the pug’s place on our ranking of the finest breeds of lap dogs? They are quite adorable with their chubby bodies and wrinkled features. They belong among the earliest dog breeds as well. Since 400 BC, they have warmed our hearts—and our laps.
I don’t know what your neighborhood looks like, but mine is certainly full of smiling pug faces!
