Alaskan Malamute

This is yet another northern breed, and you may be sensing a pattern with these dog breeds. The Alaskan Malamute is a large breed that was bred to be able to traverse the icy landscape of Alaska with very heavy loads.

It makes sense that, much like the Siberian husky, they would have a lot of fur to protect them and keep them warm in such cold environments. Their coat is also double and thick, and if you wish to add one of them to your family, you will have to brush them regularly!

Just one look at these fluffy puppies and you would definitely expect them to shed a lot, and they definitely make good on that impression.
