This giant tortoise has lived at a resort since she was 10 years old. Her species is under great threat due to encroachment on their home environment on behalf of humans. Some see the tortoises as a great food source and the animals struggle to survive as animals eat their eggs.
Zurich Zoo is a friend of these animals and one of the keys to keeping them alive in these difficult times for them. They welcomed the tortoise into their resort and she has enjoyed her life there for 70 years. She welcomed her first babies when she was about 40 to help grow her species. At the age of 80, she recently welcomed some new babies.
