Caucasian mountain dogs are very large animals that can reach as heavy as 200 pounds. They are now very docile house pets, but they started out as a breed that was created specifically for hunting bears. Now, they seem to be putting those skills to better use as protectors instead of hunters.

The dogs shed enough in a year to account for the size and weight of your average house pet. They’re certainly a type of dog that you have to plan for when adopting into your family. They’ll need plenty of space and a pretty big dog bed!
