#7 Don’t Offer Too Much Freedom Too Quickly

There might be major repercussions when you let your dog roam freely inside the house. Your puppy may not only have accidents that interfere with your potty-training efforts, but they may also cause damage to your property and hurt themselves. Puppy proofing is essential for your new pet’s safety. This involves covering electrical lines and keeping poisons and medications out of reach.

Keep your dog in a contained area whenever you can’t see them. Baby gates or perhaps an exercise pen can be used as a safe space instead of crates, which are also very helpful. Give your dog unattended freedom only after they have mastered potty training and have developed adequate chewing habits. You can then provide them some independence gradually, one area at a time.
