Hero the dog got his name from a particular situation where he was truly a hero. He was at the park when he saw a couple in an argument. The man had a knife and was about to stab the woman with it. The dog saw the danger and stepped in.
Tragically, the dog suffered five stabs with the knife in his endeavor to help the woman. Police quickly arrived on scene though and when they saw the state of the dog, they quickly rushed him to a vet to get him the help he needed after he so heroically stepped in.
