Shelter Finds Family’s Dog Who Takes Home A Puppy Instead Of The Elderly Dog

Two local dogs were brought to shelter at the same time. One was a young puppy, while the other was a senior dog. The shelter was able to find the owner of the older animal and called them up to come and get the dog. Tragically, when the family came for the dog, they opted to take the puppy home instead, leaving the elderly dog behind.

It was truly saddening for the elderly dog. The shelter team could not understand how the family could do such a thing. Cookie was the name of the elderly dog and had clearly at one point been an integral part of the family.
