10. Kennel Cough
As its name suggests, this contagious disease is most likely to happen in a place with many dogs, such as a kennel or even a dog groomer.
However, experts point out that the virus is spread via the aerosol route, which means your dog can get infected while walking down the street if you live in an area where there’s a lot of dog-to-dog interaction. The virus is also often passed around through shared water bowls and at dog parks.
What’s somehow interesting about this contagious disease is that it’s a constellation of around 10–20 different viruses and bacteria that can cause coughing. The most common culprit is Bordatella, which is also the most often vaccinated for.
