They can see in the dark
Dogs see the world from a very different perspective than ours. Even if they can’t see as many colors as us, they have a distinct eye structure that allows them to see in the dark. This is due to some light-sensitive cells called rods.
But the real superpower here is given by the tapetum lucidum. This difficult name right here is describing that part of the canine’s eye acts as a mirror, and by reflecting all the light that is entering through the retina, it is actually giving this light another chance to be registered by the eye.
This process gives your dog the ability to actually distinguish objects in the dark, something that humans are not able to do.
