Problems with ears
Dogs are particularly prone to allergy-related ear infections and problems. What starts with itchy and irritated ears soon escalates into a much more serious infection.
You might want to watch for scratching at the ears, frequent head shaking, hair loss around the ears, and even discharge coming from the ears.
Respiratory issues
The majority of humans who suffer from allergies, especially when it comes to environmental allergies, might experience respiratory issues that are very similar to those of a cold.
Even if respiratory issues caused by pet allergies are less common than allergic dermatitis, pets can also experience respiratory-related allergy symptoms. What you want to pay close attention to is sneezing, watery eyes, a runny nose, coughing, and snoring.
Gastrointestinal issues
Food allergies are generally the main reason why a pet might suffer from a gastrointestinal allergic reaction.
You might want to watch for vomiting, diarrhea, excessive gas, scooting, or even redness around the anus. These are all telltale signs that your dog might suffer from the uncomfortable effects of an allergy.
