1. Border collie

It is obvious that this list could not be complete if we did not mention the “king of trainability,” ladies and gentlemen, the Border collie. Please give these dogs a standing ovation; they are truly amazing when it comes to learning new tricks.

Since we already said new tricks, do you know the classic saying, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks?” Well, this is not the case for Collies, since they are the most intelligent dog breed and are very good at learning new commands. You can find numerous videos of people who are teaching their dogs new tricks. The oldest Collie that we’ve found on the internet and was still able to learn something new was 17 years old! Isn’t that amazing?

In their early days, they were sheepdogs in Scotland. And the rumors say that they were pretty good at what they were doing. What makes them stand out from other pups is that they were able to learn an entire language of whistles and hand gestures that guided them to gather sheep into pens. That’s how smart they are!

One thing that you should know before owning a Border collie is that if you want them to adapt to any situation, you have to socialize them since they are young puppies. They need this in order to adapt to strangers and other dogs and animals. In general, they are loyal and fierce, but socializing them is the best thing you can do.
