7. French Mastiff
The Dogue de Bordeaux is loyal and fearless. They are devoted and will protect their family no matter what. Training is a must for these pups because they can be rather stubborn.
They are not the most active dogs, but they like to please their owners, and they are great as therapy dogs. Another fact that you should be aware of when getting a French Mastiff is that they drool. Like they drool a lot. They can cover your walls and furniture. But if you love them, you love them with drool and all.
Also, they are the dogs that have the shortest lifespan. On average, they live between 5 and 8 years. This breed has the highest rate of stillbirth, and because of this, 27% of French Mastiff moms give birth via C-section.
They are also brachycephalic, and they don’t do very well in hot weather. The breathing problems put a strain on their organs, and this can make their lives even shorter.
