Maine Coon
These “gentle giants” are one of the oldest natural cat breeds in our country, and we’ve known them since the colonial era. Males can weigh as much as 18 pounds, while females can reach an astounding weight of 12 pounds.
Despite the fact that they are such big boys, they have rather chill personalities. They are good buddies; they are loving and enjoy the company of their owners.
Maine coons have a long, water-resistant coat that protects them from wind and rain. That is why, unlike most cats, these felines might actually like to play in the water and are not scared of it at all.
Since they are highly intelligent, these cats can also be trained with little effort. The Main Coons are also goofy and enjoy playing fetch and running around the house, following their owner everywhere.
