5. Be careful what your pet eats and drinks before the flight

As we already pointed out, when you are on a plane with your pet, bathroom trips will get a little bit complicated. You can go to the restroom whenever you want, but your buddy cannot. And this is the reason why you should always be careful what and when your cat or dog eats before the trip.

If you think you are a responsible pet owner, you should be careful, make the effort, and be sure your furry friend takes a potty break as close to the time of departure as possible. If you want to reduce the risk of accidents, try to limit their consumption of liquids.

The same goes for food. If you want your pet to be okay during the trip, feed them a healthier meal in the days before the flight. When you arrive at the destination, make sure to give them some extra treats to make up for the hours they haven’t eaten anything, if that is the case.
