A woman saw a truck that was dropping off old furniture on the side of the road. What was really surprising to her though was that one of the armchairs had a puppy in it. The puppy sat and patiently waited for its owner to return. But the owner was not coming back for the puppy, and the local shelter found it to be a troubling and tragic situation.
To calm the dog down and build trust, a representative from the shelter held out some treats to the dog. The dog gladly ate the treats. Now the shelter worker could pick the dog up.
