Animal control found an extremely emaciated pit bull on the side of the road. Its condition was truly frightening. Where the animal’s stomach should be, there was instead just nothing because it was so frail and you could see its bones. The shelter says that once the dog reached them it was only 17 pounds and half dead.
She could lift her head and stand with help, but the dog could not even walk around. She loved cuddling and hugging the staff though. The dog had no problem trusting people, which was impressive given her struggles. She had a long road ahead of her though learning to walk again.
