6. Bad skin and coat

If your dog has been suffering from diabetes for a while without getting any treatment, it is really common to observe poor quality in its coat and skin. This happens because your dog is not getting appropriate nutrition.

When insulin is not working the way it should, your dog can become chronically dehydrated, losing water through urine. Its coat will be the first affected by this, and you will notice it thinning out and gradually losing its luster.

Its body is struggling to keep the important organs functional, so the nutrient will not go into the fur. Once the insult therapy starts, you will rapidly observe the fur regaining its luster.
