These little birds that have been bringing joy to a lot of us in the last few years are actually endangered because of habitat loss.
Seven hummingbird species that are native to America are endangered because people have been cutting more and more wood, thus leaving them little to no place to live in the wild.
There are only 300 sapphire-bellied hummingbirds left in the wild, and the other species are not doing better either. So if you see them in your backyard, do your best to provide them with food and plants that offer them the nutrients they need.
