#3 Hawaii (Tiger Sharks)

Even though the CDC did not have the data to calculate animal-related fatality numbers for Hawaii, there really are risks in the ocean that you should be aware of. According to some experts, the rise in tiger shark attacks is a result of more people engaging in aquatic and water sports.

Tiger sharks gather in larger numbers off the coast of Maui because its shore is a perfect spot for sharks to mate and have their pups. Another reason is that this area has plenty of food for them.

Currently, there are no viable strategies that could help reduce the population of sharks on the coast of Maui. So, be careful and only swim in the areas that are indicated as safe and shark free.
