#6 Maine and Alaska (Moose)

The idea that bears are the state’s most frequent killers is a popular misunderstanding about Alaska. Despite the fact that there have been a number of bear-related fatalities in recent years, the state’s large moose population poses a considerably more serious threat.

Moose frequently crash with cars, although most of the time they only result in minor injuries or property damage. However, there were 81 accidents with moose that resulted in serious injuries and 17 fatalities between 2000 and 2010.

Maine has very little information on animal-related fatalities. However, with its enormous size and aggressive nature, the moose is easily one of the most dangerous creatures that live in the forests of Maine.
