3. In New York cemeteries, your pup can be buried beside you
Maybe there is something with the states that have “New” in their name, but you should know that in New York, human cemeteries let you bury your canine friend beside you. It is true, though, that New York was a little bit late with this because the law allowing owners to be with their pets forever was enacted in 2016.
The one who initiated this in the Empire State was Governor Andrew Cuomo. He is the one who signed this law. Likewise, in New Jersey, if you want your four-legged buddy to be buried next to you, cremation is a must; more specifically, his remains need to be cremated beforehand.
