4. Snakes: ok. Pitbulls: not really

The icy North Dakota has some really bizarre laws. One such law states that you are not allowed to keep an elk in a sandbox in your backyard. Why did they have to issue a law against it? For sure, I don’t know. Maybe there were a lot of people who were keeping elk in the sandboxes in their backyards, or something unfortunate happened when an elk was kept in a sandbox in a backyard. Who knows.

But, if we go back to our subject, “dogs,” there is a law in Minot, North Dakota, that forbids you to own a pitbull. And this is not applying only to pitbulls but also to pitbull hybrids, Staffordshire terriers, and bull terriers. And that could make sense since this specific dog breed can be one of the most dangerous if not trained properly.

Many times, people want to own dogs from breeds that are recognized as “dangerous” only because they think that these canines are able to protect their properties. Usually, those people keep the animals in poor conditions that are really harmful to them.

So, if you have a pitbull in the city of Minot, you risk having your pet euthanized, but hopefully, Minot allows you to own a snake.
