Greyhound

These dogs are bred for their agility and incredible speed, but that doesn’t mean that they are not good family dogs. With their laidback nature and sweet temper, they are great companions to have around your house.

According to some veterinarians, Grayhounds don’t develop that bond with their owners, the one that makes them inseparable, and when separation is inevitable, they get anxious. They don’t mind being left alone, sometimes they are pretty aloof and want you to leave them some space.

When you leave them at home, it would be great if you could let them run free in your yard or some large enclosed space, since they love to run, sometimes at incredible speeds of more than 40 miles per hour.

If that is not possible, keep in mind that they are built for top speeds and not endurance. If not running, Greyhounds can be found lying on the couch or sitting in front of the fireplace. So they don’t mind staying inside. Also, because they have short coats, leaving them outside during the cold season is not a good idea.
