Pit bulls are problematic dogs. They are, after all, statistically more likely to bite you than almost any other breed of dog. You might not be aware, though, that when people refer to “Pit Bulls,” they actually mean a variety of different breeds, including Pit Bull mixed breed dogs.

Pit bulls have unluckily been used in dogfighting, despite being bred for their powerful, stocky form. The American Pit Bull Terrier is not an exception, and they could have a genetic tendency toward aggression. However, this hostility is often reserved for dogs. They rarely exhibit hostility toward their family members, particularly if they have received proper training.
