Versatile and intelligent, German Shepherds were originally developed in, well, you guessed it, Germany to herd and guard flocks of sheep, but nowadays they are used in a variety of capacities, from companion animals to police dogs.

Hemangiosarcoma is the most common type of cancer that affects German Shepherds, and since it affects the blood cells and vessels, it spreads everywhere in their bodies.
