Poodle dogs are also one of the canine breeds that are most affected by cancer. However, it’s important to note that not all Poodles have a higher chance of developing cancer. According to experts, the size of your Poodle may have an indirect effect on developing cancer.

For instance, the standard-size Poodle is at increased risk of squamous cell carcinoma, a form of bone cancer that affects the toes. Dogs who receive this diagnosis have multiple recurrences. Research has also shown that dark-colored Poodles are more likely to have this kind of cancer than those with a light-colored coat.
