#8 Ocean Sunfish (10.82 Feet)

The ocean sunfish also referred to as a mola mola, is a genuinely unusual and fascinating marine animal. This kind of bony fish holds the distinction of being the heaviest bony fish in the world thanks to its massive size and weight. The ocean sunfish is a true ocean behemoth, reaching lengths of up to 10.82 feet and a mind-boggling weight of 5,070 pounds.

Due to its lack of a tail, the sunfish is frequently referred to as a “swimming head,” which raises the question of how it can swim. Nevertheless, despite this peculiar trait, the sunfish can swim pretty effectively thanks to its robust fins. Additionally, thanks to such fins, it can swim on its side, which is unheard of for fish.

Although ocean sunfish are typically solitary animals, they have been observed to congregate in packs when cleaning. They are mostly eaten by sharks and sea lions, and their main food sources are zooplankton and jellyfish, both of which are common in the water.
