Oprah has owned more than 20 dogs throughout her life, and according to her magazine, she believes that the love she experiences from her dogs is the clearest and purest love. “Over the years, I have felt the truest, purest love—the love of God, really; I imagine that’s what God’s love feels like—is the love that comes from your dog,” Oprah said in an excerpt from a Super Soul Sunday episode from 2014.
Sadie, a cocker spaniel who was saved from the Chicago no-kill animal shelter PAWS in 2009, is one of Oprah’s most cherished dogs. Sadie is the ideal illustration of Oprah’s devotion to saving and giving a loving home to dogs in need and her love of animals. Sadie is a significant and adored member of the Winfrey family, as evidenced by the fact that Oprah frequently posts pictures of her on social media.
