#4 Scoop & clean the litter box more often

If you have a cat, you already know how easily the litter box can become so smelly that suddenly your entire home starts to have a really bad odor.

However, if you’ve started to notice that the litter box has a persistent odor, it’s probably because you aren’t cleaning it thoroughly enough. Ideally, you should really be emptying the litter box at least twice per day, but most people only do this once every few days.

It is recommended that you give the litter box a thorough cleaning once a week. This includes emptying the litter, filling the box with hot, soapy water, and every once in a while using a bleach solution.

Another thing that you can do is buy a new litter box every year. This will keep your home smelling clean and fresh, regardless of how many kittens you have.
