Giardia

You did not think that tapeworm was the only parasite that you could get from pets, did you? One of the most commonly known parasites and one of the most horrible to deal with is giardia, and unfortunately, our little furry friends can not only carry it and get it themselves, but they can also transmit it to you.

Giardia is a parasitic microorganism, one that is found in the intestine, and it will end up targeting your gastrointestinal system. Because it is so tiny, you will not realize your pet has it until they start exhibiting symptoms, and then you have to be careful. Giardia can be transmitted either through contaminated water or if you make direct contact with infected feces.

In pets, giardia will end up giving them stomach cramps, painful gas, vomiting, and diarrhea as the most common symptoms. And in humans, you can expect to have the symptoms that are most common and easy to spot.

And while they can give us diseases, so can we! Here are all the foods you should never ever share with your dog, no matter how big the puppy eyes get!
