#5 They Leave “Gifts” for You
Do not punish your cat for giving you a gift, even if it is of questionable quality. It expresses how highly they value you. It can be challenging to accept the praise that comes when your cat brings the lifeless body of a baby rodent to your bedside, but it is clear that your fluffy companion is completely smitten with you.
If your cat brings you a mouse, a bird, or, if you’re lucky, a toy version of the same, it’s an indication that it considers you members of its family and that it wants to take care of you. It’s the thought that matters, just as with all gifts, so please accept it.
