#2 Toy Poodle

Ever since at least the 17th century, when they were called “sleeve dogs,” toy poodles impressed everyone. This breed is often recognized as the fifth-smallest dog in the world, standing between 5 and 10 inches tall and weighing 6 to 10 pounds.

According to the American Kennel Club, this dog has a lifespan of 10 to 18 years. The club recognizes three different breeds of poodles, although this one is the smallest. Blues, grays, browns, cafe au laits, apricots, and ivory are just a few color options, but the dog can only have one hue on its entire body.

Since they were developed as hunting dogs, toy poodles are quite active. They enjoy swimming, taking long walks, and playing fetch with toys or sticks. They are also incredibly smart dogs that are simple to train.
