Deer Antlers

Deer antlers or any other horns have recently become trendy dog toys due to their all-natural ingredients, and they usually last longer than many other chew toys.

But the one thing that makes these treats so appealing, their toughness, is exactly the issue, according to vets.

They can cause your pup’s teeth to fracture, which requires a general anesthetic to fix and can be very painful.

In most cases, it requires either removal of the broken tooth or a root canal.

Instead, experts recommend regularly brushing your pet’s teeth and giving them softer, digestible chews as treats.

Dog Clothes

Does your pet have a medical condition? If they don’t, experts say that there’s no need to buy an entire wardrobe for them.

It might be tempting to splurge on a fancy sweater for your dog, but most pets don’t require clothes.

Large dogs, in particular, don’t need any extra insulation, especially if they have thick fur.

However, some pets, such as short-hair breeds or toy, and dogs that have a compromised immune system or endocrine problems can benefit from a no-frills coat or thermal sweater when you take them outside. In this case, it’s best to consult with your vet.
