Benzalkonium chloride

As another type of chloride, you can already anticipate why this one is horrible and toxic for our pets. Benzalkonium chloride is a main ingredient in a lot of disinfectants, which you can find in some bathroom sprays and antibacterial kitchen cleaning products.

If they are not used in high amounts and you happen to have your pet around you, they will not do much damage. Still, they will cause your pet to suffer irritations on their paws, nose, and eyes since it is a very strong chemical.

It is important to use disinfectants around our homes to make sure that we get rid of viruses and bacteria that could put our family in danger. However, always follow the instructions on the package, especially when it comes to diluting solutions, and always keep your pet away until everything is dry!
