These 7 Low-Energy Dogs Are Definitely Couch Potatoes

Easiest way: adopt a senior!

You can try your best to coordinate with a breed and get a low-energy dog, but most of the time you will have to go pick them up from a litter. Change may have it that you end up with the one dog who is the most active of all of them! Just because they are thought to be low energy does not always imply that they are.

What’s more, puppies are generally a lot of work, and they are energetic by nature. You will have to be there for them all the time, from training them to playing with them and walking them long distances to get their energy levels out. It can sometimes take a lot of time before the puppy reaches adulthood and mellows out.

If you do not want to go through that hassle, the easiest way to get around it is to go to a shelter and adopt a senior or just an adult dog! They would have gotten out of their hyperactivity period, and if you happen to adopt from a foster family, then the foster family will be able to tell you even more about their activity level.

They will also be able to tell you if you are a good match for that particular dog based on their personality and what type of home would be best for them. Believe us, this will save you a lot of time.

If you choose to get a senior dog from the shelter, the situation is generally quite the same, but the loveable seniors have a few more things to point out. Of course, since you are looking for a low-energy dog, one that is now considered a senior will be perfect, as their exercise requirements will be different from a younger dog.

They will also just love to chill on the sofa with you and take slower, shorter walks. The best thing about it is that you would definitely be saving a life: old dogs end up abandoned in shelters, and by adopting one, you can make their retirement and years of life comfortable and full of love!

And if you thought that dogs can get noisy, you haven’t seen these cats up front! Here are some of the loudest cat breeds out there that are going to put some dogs to shame when it comes to volume!
