3. German Shepherd

Versatile and intelligent, German Shepherds were originally developed in, well, you guessed it, Germany to herd and guard flocks of sheep, but nowadays they are used in a variety of capacities, from companion animals to police dogs.

According to veterinarians, this breed is among those with a higher risk of cancer. Hemangiosarcoma is the most common type of cancer that affects German Shepherds, and since it affects the blood cells and vessels, it spreads everywhere in their bodies. Unfortunately, many owners don’t realize this until the disease symptoms start showing.

This is why it’s important to know and recognize all cancer symptoms.
