If you are feeding your cat in the kitchen, you should be aware that it is not the best place since it is heavily circulated every day. This is not only messy because there is a higher chance of someone tipping over the bowls, but it can also be very stressful for your cat to eat in such a noisy environment.
Try to find another place to feed your cat. You can try outside, in the yard, on the porch, in the laundry room, or even in a remote hallway. It will be easier for you to clean up, and your cat will be much happier eating in more suitable surroundings.
