Pugs

It is impossible to have missed how popular this particular breed has gotten in the last few years. Pugs have been everywhere around us, from social media posts of these mischievous little fogs to seeing them in pop culture and entertainment media. Not to mention, they have gotten extremely popular with pet owners as well.

This is in part because pugs are very unique-looking and easily recognizable; they are known to be very loving, but they also have a different, mischievous side to them that comes out when they are being very playful.

Despite all of this, the pug is actually a low-energy breed as they do not need a ton of exercise, and as long as you walk them regularly and make sure to play and keep them entertained, you will have no problems with this sometimes silly pup.

One thing to keep in mind about this breed of dog is the fact that they are a brachycephalic breed, meaning they are born with what we call flat faces. This plays a role in why they are not as active as other dogs, and it can bring about some health issues with it.

You will have to be cautious of the heat, as their flat faces and high temperatures will make it easy for them to overhear and get sick. Pugs are also known to be prone to eye and respiratory conditions, as well as allergies and some skin conditions.

They are also a bit demanding when it comes to their diet, as given their size, they can easily become overweight, so you will have to pay very close attention to it!
