Cow Hooves

Pet owners tend to look for all-natural chew toys not made of plastic. And they usually turn to nature’s “chewies,” such as animal hooves.

But those delicious treats your dog loves so much can cause some health issues, according to Bucky Bearden, DVM, a veterinarian in Florida.

He states that when it comes to any of his pets, he completely avoids treats with a hard texture, like hooves because they can crack the large carnassial teeth.

Multivitamins

A veterinarian at Pumpkin Pet Insurance told us that many pet multivitamins usually aren’t necessary.

In fact, many people might not know that supplements and vitamins don’t require approval by the FDA to certify safety, effectiveness, or quality.

So you may not always get what you’re paying for. Experts have even said that most pets get all the nutrients they need from pet food, except if they’re on a strict weight-loss diet.

In this case, a vet might recommend a xylitol-free human-grade multivitamin, which will be much more affordable.
