#2 Flying foxes are just something else!

Despite being known under the name “Indian flying fox,” these are not the regular canine foxes you find in the wild. Truth be told, they are not foxes at all, but rather bats. These huge bats are also known as “fruit bats,” and they are part of the bat family that end up growing pretty big.

These big bats are native to the jungle environment and can be found in parts of Australia, Africa, Asia, and even on some islands in the Pacific Ocean. Unlike their smaller cousins, they do have good eyesight, are not necessarily nocturnal, and live in colonies that can reach up to 200,000 individuals.

When young, baby bats cannot fly, so they cling to their mothers until they are strong enough to fly on their own. And when you take into consideration that adults can reach a wingspan of around 5.25 feet, you know the mom will have no problem carrying her baby around!
