Why does my dog always circle before lying down?

Well, this one goes all the way back to howling. If you remember, we’ve previously mentioned that our little friends are the descendants of wolves.

As many wild animals do, they make their beds by flattening the grass and brush in the wild. That’s their technique of “making the bed” and sleeping in a safe and cozy space. Even if they don’t live in the wilderness, domesticated dogs have this “instinct”, and they define the space and claim it as their own.

Another thing they might do is scratch the bedding before lying down, which is exactly how they leave their own scent and claim the space as their own.

Why does my dog stare at me?

That’s the funniest one so far. Truth be told, the best way in which you can tell why your little friend is staring at you is by paying attention to your environment.

Our little friends stare at their owners for many reasons. They might simply gaze in adoration, try to read your body language, or even want something, whether it’s attention or food.

All these types of stares are completely different from aggressive stares, which are usually accompanied by growls and showing teeth.
